One day I thought that it would be very nice to have John in a seminar in Bremen. He usually went to Freiburg at that time, which is on the other end of Germany.
I called the people in Freiburg if they can give me a contact address as I want to invite him to Bremen. Although they thought this request would be in vain they gave me his address. And just a short time later I got the answer: he would make an exception and come to Bremen if I am willing to organize everything.
I was so excited! I visited hotels with seminar rooms, wrote adverts, invited people to come... It was just such an incredible task and I wanted to make the best I could possibly do.
The seminar was a success and the best for me was when he called me in front of the audience, took me into his arms and told everybody that he wouldn't be here if not for me. I was in heaven! (Note to myself: Should try to get that picture!)
A few days after I got an unexpected cheque on top of all.
That's how life should be: do what you really love, enjoy yourself - and get paid for it. And the other thing to remember: Never give up, no matter how hopeless it seems to be.
